The Steelhead oil & gas platform
An aerial photograph of the Steelhead offshore oil platform. The Steelhead platform is the largest oil and gas rig operating in the Trading Bay Oil Field of the Cook Inlet in Alaska. The natural gas produced at the Steelhead platform is transported in two 10" underwater pipelines and the oil is transported in a single under water 8" crude oil pipeline.
Steelhead oil platform is operated by Marathon Oil Co. and Chevron (UNOCAL).
The ownership of the gas is held by Marathon Oil Company at 51.2% and Chevron (UNOCAL) at 48.8%.
The ownership of the crude oil is held is held by Forest Oil 46.8% and by Chevron (UNOCAL) 53.2%.
The Trading Bay Oil and Gas Field is located just over 75 miles west of Anchorage in Alaska.
